Mid-term Seminar for Teachers and Students

为解决学生学习生活中已经存在或者潜在的问题,2023年11月8日在西B602a召开了信息工程学院(中外合作办学项目组)期中师生座谈会,旨在把教育落到实处,促进学生德智体美劳全面发展。

 

中外合作办学项目组组长胡红飞老师,中外合作办学项目组李娜老师、Asad老师、王珺老师、王慧婧老师、张小花老师,以及中外合作办学项目20名学生代表参加了此次会议。座谈会由中外合作办学项目组樊琴老师主持。

 

 

 

To address existing or potential challenges in students' academics and personal life, a Midterm Seminar of the EU-MTSU Joint Program for Teachers and Students was held on November 8, 2023, in B602a. It aims to promote the all-round development of students in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. 

 

Hu Hongfei, the head of the EU-MTSU Joint Program, along with teachers Li Na, Asad, Wang Jun, Wang Huijing, Zhang Xiaohua, and 20 student representatives from the program, participated in the meeting. The symposium was presided over by Fan Qin, a teacher from the EU-MTSU Joint Program.

学生反馈

 

学生们依次阐明了自身在学习和生活中的困惑。

 

At the beginning of the meeting, students sequentially elucidated their concerns in learning and life.

 

首先,大部分学生时间管理能力较弱,无法协调好专业学习与课外活动的时间,导致工作时间长,但效率低;其次,部分同学认为高等数学及线性代数代课程上存在知识跨度较大,无法快速过渡的问题;另外,基于本专业特性,对英语语言水平要求较高,部分学生英语能力有限,且与外教思维模式存在差异,因此课堂进度有点跟不上。

 

 

 

Firstly, a majority of students expressed weak time management skills, struggling to coordinate the time for academic study and extracurricular activities, resulting in long working hours but low efficiency. Secondly, some students identified a significant knowledge span in Advanced Mathematics and Linear Algebra, making it challenging to transition quickly. Additionally, high English proficiency is required in this major. With limited English abilities and differences in thinking patterns compared to foreign teachers, some students are facing challenges in keeping up with the pace of the class.

 

老师反馈

 

对于学生问题,项目组作出了积极的反馈。如,胡红飞老师讲述时间管理的前提是取决于自己想要过什么样的大学生活,即基于目标进行时间管理;李娜老师和王珺老师均认为师生交流对课堂效果影响重大,学生们应积极反馈,及时与老师沟通;王慧婧老师指出学生要积极培养自主学习能力,具备探索精神;张小花老师建议学生“跳出自己的舒适圈”,掌握外教的解题思维,努力克服语言障碍,不断丰富大学生活。

 

 

 

In response to these student concerns, teachers provided constructive feedback. For instance, Teacher Hu Hongfei emphasized goal-oriented time management. Both Teacher Li Na and Wang Jun believed that effective communication between teachers and students significantly influences class outcomes, encouraging students to provide feedback actively and communicate promptly with their teachers. Teacher Wang Huijing pointed out the importance of students actively cultivating independent learning abilities and possessing an exploratory spirit. Teacher Zhang Xiaohua suggested that students should step out of their comfort zones, grasp the problem-solving mindset of foreign teachers, work hard to overcome language barriers, and continually enrich their university experiences.

“佳句怡神堪佐酒,茶香沁腹可清心。”中外合作办学项目以此次座谈会为契机,完善学生问题反馈机制,打造友好沟通平台,为项目组正向发展贡献重要力量。

 

"Good words refresh the spirit, akin to fine wine; the fragrance of tea can permeate the belly and clear the mind." Seizing this symposium as an opportunity, the EU-MTSU Joint Program has refined its student feedback mechanism, established a friendly communication platform, and contributed essential support for the positive development of the Program.
